 Students will have the option to make one or more of the following: a brooch, a sectioned bracelet, a pendant and/or necklace. Work will be fabricated to the stage where it is “pencil ready.” Then, students will learn to color their work using Prismacolor colored pencils. Finished projects will involve hydraulically formed components as well as components formed from sheet. 

 Corliss will provide fabrication demos for closures, clasps, and pinbacks.

 Metal Fabrication: The workshop will use yellow brass for fabrication and coloring. Any non-ferrous metal is compatible with the process. However, brass solders well and does not oxidize as readily as copper.

 Skill Level: Intermediate metalsmithing. Students must be comfortable using a torch for soldering, and a jeweler’s saw. Familiarity with making pin backs, necklace closures/clasps and jump rings isn’t necessary but the skill set would be helpful. No experience is necessary for the use of Prismacolors.
