FOUR DAYS for Seeds and Pods - Making Beads with Jayne Redman

The simple process of stringing beads is so satisfying. It is primitive and peaceful. The beads themselves, however, can be basic or complex depending on design, material, and technique. Create patterns to make three dimensional beads using flat sheet and silhouette and non-conforming dies to make beads with contour. Blanking dies will allow us to quickly cut out multiples in metal. Use methods of assembly including stringing, linking, cold connecting, tab construction and soldering.

Tool Steel – 2″ x 4″ x 1/32” for a practice blanking die

36-gauge Aluminum Foil

Saw Blades, 4 dozen each, Super Pike

Skip tooth and spiral saw blades

Cast acrylic blocks

Thermal plastic

1.5mm round bur, #52 drill bit, #60 drill bits

Separating discs with mandrel
